Short Distances
Long distance transportation is a great burden on the environment.
Ludo Fact established and mainly uses regional sources for raw material.
Our factories in Germany are only 80 miles (120 kilometers) apart and most of our suppliers are less than 35 miles (50 kilometers) away from the respective factory.

SUSTAINABLE RESOURCE: PAPER
Ludo Fact works exclusively with environmentally responsible suppliers who ensure the greatest environmental safety of the resource paper.
The paper industry is very energy-intensive, however most of the required energy is produced in-house via renewable energy sources such as wind and solar. Ludo Fact uses cardboard with the highest possible percentage of recycled material – that saves resources and reduces energy usage.

Production of wooden pieces for games is done even more locally than paper.
Ludo Fact exclusively uses wood from sustainable forestry. Suppliers are FSC-certified, and so is Ludo Fact.
All colors and coating are water based and non-toxic.

CLEAN ENERGY
One of the biggest challenges is the carbon neutral production of electricity. Ludo Fact is a pioneer in this field and invests in renewable energy since 1996.
Vento Ludens, Ludo Fact’s affiliate, has realised projects that produce 130 million kilowatt hours electricity with wind-, water- and solar power plants, enough to supply 130000 people – that is a city the size of Ulm; Topeka; KS; or Newport in Wales.
A total of 1.5 million kilowatt are produced with solar panels on top of our factory in Jettingen-Scheppach. That is 70 % of our yearly energy requirement in that facility.
Ludo Fact and Ludo Packt use exclusively green energy.

REDUCING PLASTIC
It is our desire to replace plastic in board games. Our R&D department takes every effort imaginable to replace petroleum based plastic.
A great example are vacuum trays. If required, we can produce those now from recycled PS which still complies to all regulations. But even better: we can use high quality cardboard and e-flute material to create trays with various pockets to hold game parts.
The most recent success are flowpacks made from paper which can be reused as waste paper to produce new paper!

OUR WAY
Well, it is not that easy, we don’t have the universal solution yet. But environmentally conscious behavior is the basis of our business. Ludo Fact is one of the leading suppliers worldwide and games produced by Ludo Fact have the lowest carbon footprint in the entire industry.
